Jake Rockefeller, the owner of Baltimore Aerials, has been experimenting with video in unconventional ways since he was in high school. Back then, it involved little more than a GoPro, a MacBook, and iMovie. But it didn’t stop there.

As drones became more readily available and dropped in price, he decided to pick a cheap one up on Amazon and experiment with it. Within months, he’d used YouTube and Google to move beyond ‘amateur’ status when it came to flying, caring for, and using his drone to capture images that would’ve been impossible to get otherwise.

And slowly, an idea began to emerge.

With the right drones and cameras, he could help businesses communicate to their customers with greater clarity than ever before. And so, he determined to turn this idea into a reality.

He put in the time and effort to earn his Remote Pilot Certification from the FAA, allowing him to fly drones commercially. He invested in the highest-grade equipment he could afford, confident that he’d be able to cover his costs after a handful of jobs. And he went all in by quitting his job, purchasing insurance, and starting JR Resolutions (jrresolutions.com) on June 2, 2017.

Within months, he was creating photo collages for realtors who were searching for unique ways to showcase their listings. And as word spread about JR Resolutions, opportunities in other industries opened up – from construction and insurance, to film, TV, and more.

Building on this success Jake acquired Baltimore Aerials on September 1st, 2021 to focus more on local projects.
